Welcome to part II of Tess and Tyler’s early spring engagement session in Washington DC. Washington National Cathedral is one of my favorite places to photograph engagement sessions, any time of year. The grand architecture and prestigious grounds make for an amazing backdrop for any couple. We were lucky enough to catch the early cherry blossom blooms during our shoot together in mid-March. These two are a perfect match and I could think of no better place than the blooming flowers in Bishops Garden to showcase their engagement ahead of their wedding day. Tess & Tyler wanted to keep things relaxed, natural, and fun, and so that is exactly what we did!

Historical Significance
Construction began in 1907, when President Theodore Roosevelt helped lay the foundation stone. Through world wars, the Great Depression and immense social change, construction ended exactly 83 years after it began, when President George H.W. Bush oversaw the laying of the final stone atop the towers, in 1990.
