Keep reading for inspiration and information about this unique wedding venue in Front Royal, Virginia.
The Trellis Virginia Wedding and Event Venue is near the entrance to Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Trellis is a fully renovated historic motor lodge in Front Royal, VA just off of John Marshall Hwy. From mountain biking to canoeing to camping, there are so many fun things to do for a weekend wedding celebration. With DC and Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) just under an hour from Front Royal, guests can get here easily if commuting in from DC or flying in from out of state. The Trellis offers parking for 25 vehicles as well as overflow parking just across the street.
With the 1.5 acre property and hosting space for up to 100 guests, you can transform the back patio or large kitchen for your unique desires. The main house is a wonderful space for hosting a rehearsal dinner or be the jumping off point for bridal party adventures. The Trellis works closely with local vendors such as Elder Fox LLC and can provide rentals to suite your needs. There is also ample space on the grounds for a 100-person large white tent to provide shade for dinner and to avoid too much sun or inclement weather.
Being in Northern Virginia where summer and early fall can be hot and humid, the best months to book this venue for your wedding would be March through June or late August through November. Front Royal is also a destination centered around good food, family activities, and outdoor fun.
The Trellis main house features a large main level master bedroom and large on-suite master bathroom to accommodate a hair and makeup team. With mirrors are two of the walls and ample natural light, you can easily fit 3-4 stylists at a time in the bathroom alone. The canopy bed in the master bedroom is also a wonderful focal point for the bridal party getting ready photos in matching robes.
No detail was overlooked when it came to designing the guest cottages. Each cobblestone cottage is equipped with a luxury bathroom and kitchenette and decorated to make you feel at home. No matter which direction you look, you will observe another thoughtful detail. The atmosphere in each cottage is that of comfort, rest, and relaxation.
The Ceremony Space at The Trellis is a Gazebo that is ready for your personal touches. With ample space for floral installations and custom arches, you can really make this space your own. The Gazebo offers coverage in the event of rain.
The Main House features three bedrooms with king beds. The kitchen features a custom island and appliances that are perfect for catering. The property sits on 1.5 acres with plenty of lawn space and has paved sidewalks connecting the cottages. Both the main house and cottages have soft linens and towels to help you enjoy your stay.
While the venue offers ample space, I would recommend setting aside extra time for your wedding day timeline for portraits at a nearby location, perhaps nestled in the trees in Shenandoah National Park. While the venue itself would absolutely crush for candid photos with guests interactions, like cocktail hour and your reception, there are very few areas that feel private enough for a first look or portraits that are free of distractions in the background. So, if that clean look is important to you, then I would consider going somewhere off-site for your bridal party and couples portraits.
